Objective ▪ This report presents the effects of
Methods sclerostin monoclonal antibody (Scl- Strengths, Weaknesses, Key
Ab) on fracture repair in rat femur Points
open fracture.
▪ A day after transverse osteotomy at
the mid-shaft of right femur, 90 male
SD rats were administered Scl-Ab III
(s.c. injection, 25 mg/kg, 2 times per
week) or vehicle for 3, 6 or 9 weeks.
▪ Fracture repair was analyzed using
mCT, mCT-based angiography,
histological methods and 4-point
mechanical testing.
