The 62nd National Conference of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (PEDICON 2025) began on January 8, 2025, in Hyderabad, with a focus on skill-building workshops. Centered on the theme “Equity in Healthcare – The Right of Every Child,” the event gathered pediatric experts nationwide for an intensive five-day academic experience.

The inaugural day was highlighted by two key workshops: the Training of Trainers (TOT) and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). The TOT workshop aimed to enhance the teaching skills of pediatric trainers by focusing on effective communication, pedagogy, and curriculum design. Meanwhile, the NRP workshop provided scenario-based training on neonatal emergencies, equipping participants with critical life-saving skills such as advanced airway management and effective resuscitation techniques.

On January 9, the conference will feature Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions covering essential topics in pediatric healthcare, including infectious diseases, pediatric neurology, endocrinology, and adolescent health. These sessions, delivered by leading experts, aim to provide updated evidence-based practices and stimulate collaborative learning.

The core scientific program, scheduled from January 10 to 12, promises an engaging lineup of keynote lectures, symposia, and interactive panel discussions. Key topics include pediatric leprosy, preparedness for potential HMPV outbreaks, and managing rare pediatric conditions. Poster presentations and debates on contentious issues in pediatric care will further enrich the scientific discourse.

With a well-rounded mix of workshops, CME, and scientific sessions, PEDICON 2025 continues its legacy of fostering pediatric advancements and advocating for equitable healthcare access for every child in India.
